Details

Grafana Labs is hiring a Software Engineer for its Platform Productivity squad. The role focuses on developing and operating internal engineering platforms that help application engineers securely and efficiently build, release, deploy, and run workloads on Grafana Cloud infrastructure.

This is a remote opportunity for applicants living in Spain time zones. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation to support Platform tooling and ensure healthy coverage across approximately 12 daylight hours per day.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP).
Manage and develop CI/CD platforms.
Build release and deployment automation.
Develop application configuration management tooling.
Automate software updates.
Manage artefacts and artefact management systems.
Work with application development, security, and other internal teams to support implementation of their requirements.
Help internal engineering teams adopt secure, measurable release processes and golden paths.
Design, compare, and select appropriate technical solutions.
Contribute to the squad roadmap and decisions about extending or decommissioning systems.
Participate in an on-call rotation supporting Platform tooling.
Develop next-generation CI/CD systems, automation runner infrastructure, security automation, and AI-backed tooling for internal support.
Own the full lifecycle of software, including design documentation, development, testing, deployment, incident response, user feedback, and decommissioning.

Requirements

Engineering or software development experience within a Platform group delivering services to internal engineering teams.
Experience working in a cloud environment.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Crossplane.
Familiarity with Kubernetes administration; experience with Grafana Tanka is a plus.
Experience or interest in implementing, integrating, and maintaining observability systems and processes.
Experience operating software in production.
Flexibility with development tools and languages. Go is the primary language, but shell scripting and other suitable tools may also be used.
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Comfort working in a remote-first, collaborative, consensus-oriented company.
Willingness to learn, grow, and work across development and operations concerns.
