Details

Grafana Labs is hiring a Software Engineer for its Platform Productivity squad. The role focuses on building and operating internal engineering platforms that help application engineers securely and measurably release software onto Grafana Labs infrastructure. This is a remote opportunity for applicants living in Ireland time zones only.

Grafana Cloud processes millions of metrics, log lines, and traces per second through a highly available, low-latency observability platform. The Platform department provides the tools, systems, and Kubernetes clusters required to build, deploy, and run workloads across the organization.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP).
Manage and develop CI/CD platforms.
Automate build, release, and deployment processes.
Develop and maintain application configuration management tooling.
Automate software updates.
Manage artefacts and artefact management systems.
Work with application development, security, and other internal teams to support their requirements.
Help internal engineering teams adopt golden paths and platform tooling, including support for edge cases.
Design, compare, and select appropriate technical solutions.
Contribute to the squad roadmap and help determine when systems should be improved or retired.
Participate in an on-call rotation supporting Platform tooling.
Contribute to upcoming projects involving next-generation CI/CD systems, automation runner infrastructure, security automation, artefact management, and AI-backed internal support tooling.
Own the full lifecycle of code, including design documentation, feedback, testing, deployment, operations, and decommissioning.

Requirements

Engineering or software development experience within a Platform group delivering services to internal engineering teams.
Experience working in a cloud environment.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform or Crossplane.
Familiarity with Kubernetes administration; experience with Grafana Tanka is advantageous.
Experience or interest in implementing, integrating, and maintaining observability systems and processes.
Experience operating production software and working across development and operations concerns.
Flexibility with programming and automation tools. Go is the primary language, but shell scripting and other suitable tools may also be used.
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, collaborative, consensus-oriented environment.
