Who We Are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the Team
The Link team builds the global, consumer network for next-generation commerce, using our base of 300M+ registered consumers to pioneer the future of Identity, Consumer Finance, and AI-driven transactions. While our foundation was built on high-conversion merchant payments and a flexible digital wallet, we are expanding far beyond. We are building the infrastructure for a world where AI agents transact on your behalf, stablecoins go mainstream, and identity dictates how money moves.
We think of Link as the wallet for the internet—and we're building for what's next.
What You'll Do
As a Staff Designer on Link, you'll lead the visual design direction for some of Link's newest and most ambitious bets. You'll define what a product looks like and feels like, bring visual conviction to early-stage concepts, and shape Link's expanding consumer presence across Stripe’s checkout, with our AI partners, and in Link’s own app. This is a role for someone who does their best work when the problem is undefined and the canvas is blank.
Responsibilities
- Define the visual design direction for net-new Link products and surfaces from the ground up across mobile and web.
- Lead design exploration on early-stage, pre-roadmap opportunities from initial concept through launch.
- Build new visual languages, component patterns, and design systems for products that do not exist yet.
- Partner with brand designers to extend and evolve Link's visual identity into new product categories.
- Shape early product strategy through design exploration and rapid prototyping, making abstract opportunities tangible for product and engineering partners.
- Represent Link's design vision in senior reviews and establish the creative bar for new product areas.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience with a strong visual and mobile design foundation.
- A portfolio with clear 0-to-1 work and products taken from concept to launch where you defined the visual language.
- Demonstrated ability to create cohesive, distinctive visual systems for new products from scratch.
- Deep fluency across visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
- Experience working in high-ambiguity environments where you framed the problem before solving it.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to design and prototype in code.
- Strong independence and an ability to advocate for a larger design vision with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to reduce complex problems down to the right balance of flexibility, power, and ease of use.
- Skilled in explaining your work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and seeking feedback to help produce your best work.
