The Stripe Billing team builds software tools that help global businesses operationalize their commercial relationships with customers. The Billing platform supports different billing models, customer acquisition channels, and ways of issuing bills and collecting payments. Stripe also offers billing and SaaS analytics, revenue retention, and recovery tools to support the recurring revenue management needs of startups and large enterprises.
Responsibilities
As a Product Manager on Stripe Billing, you will:
- Understand user needs and develop long-term product plans to solve categories of problems.
- Shape product features that address user needs.
- Drive the growth and usage of Stripe Billing products.
- Meet with customers and collaborate internally with engineering, design, marketing, analytics, sales, and other customer-facing teams.
- Identify the most important problems to solve and develop product solutions.
- Work with engineering and design teams to scope work.
- Articulate product vision and develop annual and quarterly plans.
- Collaborate across functions to deliver solutions and help users succeed.
Product development at Stripe is highly collaborative, involving engineering, design, product marketing, data science, and customer-facing teams.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant product management experience.
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to understand software systems in depth, build robust integrations with the Stripe API, and contribute meaningfully to high-stakes discussions about API design, data modeling, and software architecture.
- Strong customer empathy across different segments and personas, from startups to large enterprises and across engineering and finance functions.
- Strong product sense, including the ability to understand user needs in depth and build effective product experiences.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex discussions, write succinctly, and present to senior stakeholders inside and outside Stripe.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing technical software products from infancy through scale.
- Ability to internalize an entire cross-functional business and lead a comprehensive product vision.
- Experience designing and building a multi-product platform.
- Creative product thinking and a willingness to collaborate across engineering, analytics, marketing, design, and sales.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate customer problems precisely.
