Details

Airbnb's Marketing Technology team builds a state-of-the-art platform and measurement capabilities that enable marketing and product teams to engage customers across channels including email, push notifications, SMS, Google Ads, and Facebook Ads.

The Content Platform team is transforming its platform into an AI-driven system that can turn a marketing brief into a fully realized campaign in minutes. The team owns a complex CMS platform, no-code tools, rendering infrastructure, and an agentic layer that serves content to millions of Airbnb users daily.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical vision for the platform with a product-first mindset.
  • Lead and contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, and deployment.
  • Participate in code and design reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve technical quality.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, creative, and design teams to drive impactful outcomes.
  • At the Staff+ level, set a technical vision and deliver flexible, efficient solutions that scale with business needs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's or PhD degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in backend systems with large-scale service-oriented architecture.
  • Hands-on experience architecting and developing agentic systems.
  • Experience with Java and/or Kotlin, LangGraph, GraphQL, relational and NoSQL databases, Redis and other caching solutions, and microservice architecture.
  • Passion for efficiency, availability, and system quality.
  • Strong communication skills and experience driving initiatives across teams, departments, and leadership.

Location

  • US remote eligible.
  • The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager.
  • Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Eligibility may vary if the position is employed by another Airbnb entity.

Compensation

The base pay range is $212,000–$265,000 USD per year. Actual base pay depends on factors including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
