Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Risk and Compliance Engineering builds products to reduce Stripe's financial and regulatory risk at scale while maintaining a best-in-class user experience. The team develops user-facing products and backend platforms to help Stripe users comply with regulatory and financial partner requirements.

As a Technical Program Manager in the Risk and Compliance space, you will work across engineering, product, and strategy to drive programs spanning the Risk organization and Stripe. You will define cross-functional strategies, plan, and execute large-scale technical programs that solve complex problems and empower Stripe and its users.

Responsibilities

  • Execute technical programs requiring deep systems and engineering knowledge.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and other cross-functional partners to define, scope, and drive large programs to completion.
  • Develop, implement, and iterate on program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs with well-defined success criteria.
  • Improve communication and operating practices across teams to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Define and produce high-quality written proposals, communications, and documentation.
  • Leverage data and acquired knowledge to drive strategic decisions at the engineering leadership level.
  • Create widely circulated plans that promote consistency and clarity and build alignment across teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, and/or technical program management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to digest complex information and make recommendations.
  • A track record of providing program management throughout all phases of software development, from kickoff through launch, while demonstrating critical thinking, challenging norms, and thought leadership.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and senior leaders.
  • Experience driving internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Experience operating autonomously and leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in financial risk and compliance.
  • SQL and Python scripting and/or programming skills.
