About the Team

Stripe Terminal helps users extend their online presence to the physical world. The Terminal team’s mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as the Stripe API has done for online payments.

Responsibilities

Build and enhance applications, services, and the operating system that run on physical Terminal devices.
Build frameworks that enable internal and external engineers to develop on Stripe’s custom platform.
Design, build, and maintain Android apps and SDKs in Kotlin.
Develop Android payment applications for a variety of devices and form factors.
Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders across the company to bring new features and products to mobile users.
Collaborate with Android developers working on Stripe’s mobile apps and Stripe Terminal to establish Android development best practices across the company.
Work with user research and product design to understand users and address their needs.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

2+ years of experience in Android development.
Experience working with at least one of the following: Kotlin, Java, Swift, Objective-C, Go, or Python.

Preferred Qualifications

Payments expertise or knowledge.
Experience with backend infrastructure or services.
Ability to listen well and internalize ideas from across the organization while setting a vision that others are excited to support.
Preference for simple, lasting, and scalable solutions and designs.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
A user-focused approach to crafting strong developer and consumer experiences.
