This role is part of the Mobile SDK team, which creates tools for developers worldwide and processes more than a billion events every day. You will contribute to the next generation of mobile app monitoring using Apple's advanced technologies, including new APIs, SwiftUI, Foundation Models, modern concurrency, and on-device AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of Sentry's iOS SDK, from core architecture through the final product experience.
  • Pioneer features such as Session Replay and next-generation performance monitoring.
  • Design robust, high-quality APIs that operate at massive scale.
  • Help shape Sentry's overall mobile vision.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and help teams solve complex customer challenges.
  • Contribute full-time to a major open-source project.
  • Collaborate with engineers in a fast-paced culture focused on excellence, learning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile platforms; SDK development and/or developer tooling experience is preferred.
  • Deep experience developing for iOS using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Residence in the Vienna area or willingness to relocate.

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of application monitoring and observability.
  • Familiarity with low-level programming in C or C++.
  • Experience maintaining or contributing to open-source libraries.
  • Experience with other mobile platforms or frameworks, including Android with Kotlin or Java, React Native with JavaScript or TypeScript, or Flutter with Dart.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: EUR 99,000–113,000 gross per year.
  • The legally required minimum wage for the position is EUR 60,844 gross per year under the applicable IT collective agreement (IT-KV).
  • Eligibility for employee benefit plans and programs applicable to the position, including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage.
