Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Revenue and Financial Automation team is building a modern, revenue-focused financial management platform for fast-growing, digital-native companies. Stripe Billing supports recurring and one-time payments, SaaS subscriptions, multi-stage contracts, usage-based billing, and recovery and retention tools.

As an engineer on the team, you will shape and build products that help users model and operate their businesses more efficiently. You will work across technologies, systems, and processes to design, build, test, and ship code. This cross-functional role involves collaborating with infrastructure, security, design, and operations experts to build business-critical internal and external features for Stripe users worldwide.

Responsibilities

Design the next generation of Stripe products for the high-growth needs of the company and its customers.
Deliver value through a collaborative, user-first approach with stakeholders and customers.
Mentor engineers and help them grow.
Debug and solve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.

Requirements

2–12+ years of experience in backend software development.
Ability to write high-quality code in programming languages such as Go, Java, C, or C++.
Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems.
Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work across work streams and contribute to peers' success.
Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with event-driven architectures.
Experience with subscription management, usage-based billing, or financial reporting systems.
Interest in financial infrastructure and how businesses manage revenue operations.
Direct leadership and mentorship experience.
