Details

The Cloud Scaling team develops robust capabilities within the ClickHouse cloud environment to create a fully functional serverless database solution. The team collaborates closely with the core database team and other cloud teams to evolve ClickHouse into a cloud-native database system and improve cloud infrastructure performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

Build a cloud-native database platform on top of the public cloud.
Work on the in-house Kubernetes operator to support seamless infrastructure management.
Improve the metrics pipeline and build systems that generate better statistics and recommendations.
Collaborate with the ClickHouse core development team and other data plane teams to support infrastructure use cases and internal infrastructure improvements.
Architect and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
Debug production issues and participate in PagerDuty on-call support.

Requirements

5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Production experience with programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java.
Strong production debugging and problem-solving skills.
Expertise with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings, such as EC2.
Experience with data storage, ingestion, and transformation tools such as Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
Experience working with distributed systems.
Passion for solving data problems at scale.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within and across engineering teams.
