Details

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Data Product Experiences team builds intuitive, actionable merchant-facing data products, including client-side rendering engines, high-performance charting libraries, and interactive visualization interfaces for high-throughput streaming telemetry and real-time merchant analytics.

Responsibilities

Architect and build high-performance client-side data rendering engines capable of smoothly visualizing tens of thousands of data points.
Partner with designers and product managers to prototype, build, and ship interactive analytics dashboards and data visualization tools across the Stripe Dashboard.
Contribute to Stripe's core design system by developing scalable, reusable visualization components and charting standards.
Design frontend integration strategies and robust API contracts for analytics components used by partner teams.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship through code reviews, pairing, and frontend engineering best practices.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven user experiences.
Optimize rendering performance and state management for web applications handling large datasets, real-time telemetry, and high-density visual components.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience in a tech-forward, product-driven company.
Advanced experience with React, modern TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/Sass, and modern web application architecture.
Experience building interactive web charts and visualizations with tools and libraries such as D3.js, Recharts, SVG, Canvas, or WebGL, with a focus on data density and visual-perceptual hierarchy.
Proven ability to write clear, elegant, well-tested code in a collaborative team environment.
Experience designing and developing web applications that work across modern browsers, screen dimensions, and devices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

A design portfolio or frontend codebase demonstrating interactive dashboards, custom charting engines, creative tools, or design systems.
Understanding of typography, layout, color theory, data density balance, and visual proportion.
Experience with complex client-side state management, caching, and real-time data-fetching strategies.
Advanced React proficiency, including fluid interactions, subtle animations, visual refinement, and web rendering performance.
Experience with accessibility standards for interactive charts and graphs, A/B testing frameworks, synthetic monitoring, and performance profiling tools.
