Who We Are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet and put the global economy within everyone’s reach.
About the Team
IAM is the nerve center of Stripe. The team controls how millions of businesses grant access to their accounts, including employees, AI agents, apps, and API integrations, across the Dashboard, API, CLI, and MCP. It also builds the unified, fine-grained permissions model that every Stripe product uses.
AI agents are changing how businesses operate and how they are authorized, governed, and secured. The team builds for solo founders and Fortune 500 companies, balancing usability, security, flexibility, and simplicity.
Responsibilities
- Set the vision and drive the roadmap for how every principal, human, agent, or app gets access to a Stripe account by working directly with founders, administrators, and developers.
- Design access-granting experiences across signup, teammate invitations, API key creation, agent authorization, and third-party app authorization.
- Define how AI agents authenticate, what they are allowed to do, and how businesses maintain control through approvals and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- Build least-privilege capabilities, including custom roles, smart permission defaults, and usage-based recommendations.
- Drive secretless authentication through Workload Identity Federation as the default integration approach, reducing API key leaks as a category of risk.
- Partner across Dashboard, API Platform, Security, Payments, and Money Movement to deliver the product vision across teams.
- Ship, learn, and iterate through experimentation and analysis of real-world usage.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience shipping platform or infrastructure products that other teams build on.
- Background in security, identity, authentication, or developer platforms, or serious curiosity about the space.
- Experience talking to users to identify underlying problems rather than relying solely on reported issues.
- Technical fluency to collaborate deeply with engineers on authorization and authentication design.
- A bias toward experimentation over large, one-time launches.
- Comfort setting direction in an emerging space across teams that you do not manage.
- Ability to balance usability with security and flexibility with simplicity at both solo-founder and Fortune 500 scale.
