Details

Anthropic's New Markets and Monetization team works to bring transformational AI to every business through the Claude Platform. The team focuses on identifying and building for new API markets and creating the commercial infrastructure that enables usage through partners, resellers, and other platforms.

You will own one of the team's product areas, work with a dedicated engineering lead and designer, and be measured against company-level outcomes. Most of the team's products are at an early stage, so you will define problems, strategy, and roadmaps rather than execute against established requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own a product area such as:
    • Partner and platform billing, including metering, attribution, billing, and program terms for usage through partners, resellers, and other platforms.
    • Spend observability and controls, including enterprise spending visibility, limits, and programmatic controls.
    • A unified account and startup path spanning the API and Claude subscriptions, including a single login, wallet, plan, and invoicing experience.
    • A vertical industry strategy, including identifying industry-specific platform needs, selecting product bets, and shipping with vertical product and go-to-market partners.
  • Build on primitives owned by the Billing Platform and Auth & Identity teams.
  • Collaborate with Growth, Go-to-Market and Startups, Legal, Finance, and Data Science.
  • Structure pricing, revenue attribution, partner terms, and startup program terms with Finance, Legal, and Business Development.
  • Engage enterprise buyers, startup builders, partners, resellers, embedded-platform customers, and industry customers.
  • Translate ecosystem insights into a roadmap that increases value for platform participants.
  • Own outcome metrics including business outside coding, startup revenue, volume unified across the API and Claude subscriptions, and partner-booked volume.
  • Ensure instrumentation exists to measure product impact.
  • Write strategy, product specifications, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience owning a developer platform, API, billing or money-movement product, or self-serve growth product end to end, with accountability for revenue or activation metrics. For many candidates, this corresponds to five or more years of product management experience.
  • Experience building with or shipping products based on large language models, with an understanding of how billing, identity, and distribution change when customers may be agents.
  • Technical fluency, including the ability to read API documentation, work through billing, identity, or attribution designs with engineers, and make decisions about platform primitives.
  • Ability to use SQL or equivalent tools to define metrics, build funnels, and size markets.
  • Experience negotiating pricing, revenue share, or program terms with Finance, Legal, or Business Development.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to clearly explain tradeoffs to engineers, executives, and external partners.
  • Interest in Anthropic's mission and in growing a platform where builders share in its upside.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Eight or more years of product management experience.
  • Experience with metering, usage attribution, reseller or cloud-marketplace channels, or enterprise spend management.
  • Experience taking a developer platform into a new industry or building products in healthcare, life sciences, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience growing a developer product's self-serve or startup business, including pricing and packaging.
  • Experience building account, identity, or subscription systems spanning multiple products.
  • Experience taking a product from zero to one while defining its users, product, and economics.

Education and Logistics

  • Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Minimum years of experience correlate with the internal job level requirements.
  • Anthropic currently expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
  • Anthropic sponsors visas, although sponsorship may not be possible for every role or candidate. The company retains an immigration lawyer to assist with visa processes.

Benefits

Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office space for collaboration.
