Teleport is the AI Infrastructure Identity Company, providing cryptographically secured identity for humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents. The company is remote-first and globally distributed.
Role
We are looking for a product-focused systems engineer to work on Teleport itself. The role covers networking, performance, security, and integrations with external systems. You will work across the full product lifecycle, including understanding customer problems, writing RFDs for proposed designs, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Teleport is an open-core project, and most of the code is open source and written in Go.
Responsibilities
- Automatically discover and enroll AWS EKS clusters.
- Automatically discover and enroll applications running within Kubernetes.
- Extend Teleport RBAC to control access to Kubernetes resources.
- Design and implement secure SSH server access using short-lived credentials.
- Develop deep expertise in the SSH protocol and related protocols, including SFTP.
- Work with Linux subsystems such as PAM, BPF, auditd, and cgroups to enable seamless server access.
- Build and maintain Teleport's core SSH infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure connectivity across server environments.
Requirements
- Builder mentality and experience, with a passion for building zero-to-one products.
- Extensive experience with Go.
- Extensive experience developing scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems and platforms.
- Linux systems software engineering experience.

- Significant open-source contributions.
