About Teleport

Don't wait for the future of infrastructure. Be part of it.

Teleport is the AI Infrastructure Identity Company. We're solving one of the hardest problems in security: giving every human, machine, workload, and AI agent a cryptographically secured identity, improving engineering velocity while maintaining security. We make trusted computing simple. Remote-first and globally distributed, we work with companies like Nasdaq, IBM, and Elastic to secure infrastructure for an AI world.

About the Role

We are looking for security-focused software engineers to work on Teleport’s Security Engineering and Defense and Intelligence teams.

Security Engineering

  • Work on problems ranging from cryptography and networking to security automation and AI agents.
  • Work throughout the Engineering team on the full product lifecycle: reviewing RFDs for proposed designs, code review, vulnerability testing, and documentation.
  • Most of the code you review and write will be open source and written in Go (or Rust).

Defense and Intelligence

  • Work with the detection and response stack (examples: Panther, Wiz, Jamf Protect, and Temporal) to stop breaches.
  • Solve for false positives, detection coverage, and response automation by writing code and building AI agents.
  • Triage and tune detection and response logic in a tight feedback loop with security teammates and the broader engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Review RFDs from engineers on a variety of proposed projects for security and quality.
  • Pair with the Cloud team to deploy service control policies (SCPs) in AWS to prevent undesired configurations.
  • Hunt for vulnerabilities using both traditional scanning tools and LLM / AI tools in innovative and creative ways.
  • Automate routine security and compliance processes to increase effectiveness and decrease busywork.
  • Implement and maintain log pipelines for event data sources like critical SaaS apps or endpoint telemetry.
  • Engage with red teams to test and harden detection and response capabilities.
  • Build response automation to reduce the risk of advanced attacks against Teleport systems.
  • Contribute to the Teleport product to improve defense for both Teleport and customers.
  • Ensure noisy/false-positive alerts are minimized through a tight feedback loop.

Requirements

  • Experience with Go or Rust (explicitly listed).
  • Experience participating in code review and design review processes (RFDs).
  • Experience or familiarity with detection & response concepts, log pipelines, and endpoint telemetry is implied by the role.

Nice to Have

  • Security experience
  • Cryptography engineering experience

How We Hire

  • 30 minute intro call to walk through compensation, interview process, and requirements.
  • 30 minute call with the hiring manager to walk through the take-home exercise and answer questions.
  • Participation in a Slack channel and submission of a coding challenge in Go using GitHub (take-home challenge that mirrors real work).

The Benefits

  • Extensive health coverage
  • Annual expense budget
  • Rest and recovery policies
  • Retirement savings plans
  • Professional development opportunities

Other Notes

  • Teleport is remote-first and globally distributed; this role is listed for the United Kingdom (remote).
  • Teleport is an equal opportunity employer and includes a Candidate Privacy Notice with details about processing applicant personal data.
