Details
The Learning Team at ClickHouse is growing as more users adopt ClickHouse and need training to use it effectively. This role will develop and deliver training content in multiple formats, including on-demand courses through ClickHouse Academy, live virtual training via Zoom, in-person customer training, and training at community events and conferences. The team also operates a credential and certification program for ClickHouse subject matter experts. Experience with machine learning and GenAI is highly valuable for building and delivering training for key ClickHouse use cases.
Responsibilities
- Develop ClickHouse training courses for on-demand and instructor-led delivery, including slides, videos, and hands-on labs.
- Design training courses for different ClickHouse personas and users, working with Engineering and Product teams to determine course content.
- Collaborate with other Curriculum Developers to produce high-quality on-demand training content for ClickHouse Academy.
- Teach ClickHouse courses virtually and in person for public and private deliveries.
- Help write and deploy quizzes and certification exams for ClickHouse credentials and certifications.
- Establish a community presence through popular social media outlets, training sessions, and conference talks.
- Travel to meetups, conferences, and customer sites to deliver training and promote ClickHouse to the community.
Requirements
- Self-motivated attitude, with the desire and determination to complete projects in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and effectively.
- Proven experience developing curriculum for highly technical audiences, such as software engineers and database developers.
- Proven experience teaching audiences of different sizes and backgrounds.
- Ability to travel regionally throughout Asia and Australia.
- Experience with SQL.
- Technical breadth and depth in subjects such as database management systems, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems, software engineering, and big data.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
Bonus Points
- Five or more years of curriculum development experience for databases and/or distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of building machine learning applications and/or GenAI.
- Experience with the ClickHouse database.
- Experience with one or more cloud service providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience building software certification exams.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, support, product, and development teams.
- Technical degree, such as Computer Science or a related field.
Compensation
- Typical starting salary in the United States: $132,000–$166,000 USD per year.
- Typical starting salary in US premium markets: $147,000–$184,000 USD per year.
- Premium market ranges may apply in locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area.
