Details

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer in the Development Services team to design, implement, and roll out standardized CI/CD pipelines across multiple product teams and regions. The role focuses on the transition from Jenkins to GitLab CI/CD and on enabling secure, scalable deployments on Red Hat OpenShift and AWS-based platforms in a regulated enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

CI/CD and Pipeline Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain standardized CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
  • Migrate from Bitbucket and Jenkins, AWS CodeCommit, and AWS CodePipeline to GitLab.
  • Maintain and support Jenkins pipelines during the transition and decommissioning phase.
  • Continuously improve build, test, and deployment automation.

Infrastructure and Automation

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and automation scripts.
  • Build automation wherever feasible.
  • Integrate monitoring and logging solutions such as Splunk into delivery pipelines.

Security and Compliance

  • Embed SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure pipelines comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audit-ready pipeline designs and evidence generation.

Collaboration and Enablement

  • Support development teams with migrations and onboarding.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops on pipelines, GitLab, and DevOps practices.
  • Share knowledge and best practices across product teams and regions.

GitLab Platform Enablement

  • Contribute to GitLab usage standards, pipeline templates, and best practices.
  • Integrate GitLab with artifact repositories, security scanners, observability tools, and other enterprise tooling.
  • Apply Git workflows, branching strategies, and merge-request standards, including trunk-based development with feature toggles.

OpenShift and Cloud Platforms

  • Deploy and operate applications on Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Support deployments on AWS-based platforms such as ECS and Fargate.
  • Ensure scalability, availability, and security of containerized workloads.
  • Collaborate with cloud platform teams and architects on migration solutions.

Working Environment

ABN AMRO Clearing is an international clearing firm providing execution, clearing, financing, stock borrowing and lending, settlement, and custody services. The Development Services team is a global team focused on enabling development teams to adopt standardized platforms, pipelines, and DevX across the organization. The role involves close collaboration with product development teams, IT Scrum Masters, Product Owners, IT Engineers, IT Platform Engineers, and Business Developers across regions and cultures. Global collaboration and communication may occasionally be required outside EU business hours.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience maintaining or migrating Jenkins pipelines.
  • Proven experience with Red Hat OpenShift, including deployments, scaling, networking, and security.
  • Solid understanding of Docker and containerization.
  • Strong Git knowledge and experience with modern branching strategies.
  • Scripting skills, such as Python or Bash.
  • Experience working in complex, distributed enterprise environments.
  • Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • An inventive approach, strong engineering mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ownership, flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to continuously learn.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Gross monthly salary of €6,072–€8,675 based on a 40-hour working week, including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget, depending on experience and skills.
