About proficiency levels:
- 1-2 — basic awareness. Minimal hands-on experience, and a rudimentary understanding of the technology's purpose;
- 3-6 — daily use. Comfortable and regular usage, capable of handling common tasks and challenges related to the technology;
- 7-9 — you are an expert, you can teach others, you know all the pitfalls and tricks;
- 10 — exceptional knowledge, comprehensive understanding, and adeptness in all aspects of the technology, including advanced problem-solving. Think twice before claiming or demanding such level.

Details
The Supply Chain Technology team within OpenAI’s Enterprise Platform & Technology builds and scales the systems and data architecture that power core supply chain operations. The team enables operational agility, visibility, and execution across planning, fulfillment, and partner operations through strategic integrations, scalable automation, and seamless data flows.
As a Senior Integrations Engineer, you will design, build, and operate integrations and custom applications connecting OpenAI’s supply chain ecosystem. You will use integration platforms, Python development, and APIs to deliver reliable data flows across enterprise systems, internal applications, and external partners. This hands-on role includes ownership of architecture, implementation, deployment, and ongoing production support.
Responsibilities
- Define integration architecture and reusable design patterns across the supply chain technology landscape, balancing reliability, security, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Build and support integrations connecting ERP and SCM systems, internal applications, e-commerce platforms, third-party logistics providers, contract manufacturers, retailers, and distributors.
- Develop workflows, APIs, event-driven services, and batch and file interfaces using the appropriate combination of platform capabilities and custom code.
- Build production Python applications, integration services, reusable connectors, and operational tools with automated tests and maintainable interfaces.
- Implement API and EDI partner integrations, including data mappings, partner onboarding, end-to-end testing, and transaction reconciliation.
- Develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, tools, and plugins that connect AI-enabled applications to supply chain systems, including authorization, validation, audit trails, and transaction approvals.
- Own production reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and recovery.
- Diagnose and resolve data synchronization errors, API failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Embed access controls, segregation of duties, and auditability into integration designs to support SOX compliance and internal control requirements.
- Partner with Hardware Operations, Application Engineering, Product Management, IT, and business teams to improve data integrity, automate operational workflows, and support migration from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in integration development, architecture, and design, with a track record of delivering and operating production systems.
- Hands-on proficiency with at least two integration platforms, such as Workato, MuleSoft, or Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
- Python as a primary development language, with experience building production applications or integration services using automated testing and sound engineering practices.
- Experience in high-volume environments such as customer-facing e-commerce, with an understanding of order management, inventory, fulfillment, and returns.
- Understanding of integration patterns, REST and SOAP services, asynchronous messaging, EDI, and JSON, XML, and CSV data formats.
- Experience building or maintaining third-party API integrations, including OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, pagination, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
- Experience with AWS or Azure and supporting technologies such as Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience with microservices and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Willingness to take ownership of systems throughout their production lifecycle, participate in on-call support, and prioritize reliability and operational readiness.
- Ability to communicate technical issues and business impact clearly to engineering teams and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating with Oracle Fusion ERP or SCM, particularly across planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, and order management.
- Experience developing MCP servers, plugins, or agentic automation for enterprise workflows.
- Regular use of AI coding tools such as Codex, with a disciplined approach to reviewing, testing, and validating generated code.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with employer contributions to Health Savings Accounts.
- Pre-tax accounts for health, dependent care, and commuter expenses.
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
- Paid parental, medical, and caregiver leave.
- Paid time off, paid company holidays, office closures, and paid sick or safe time as required by law.
- Mental health and wellness support.
- Employer-paid basic life and disability coverage.
- Annual learning and development stipend.
- Daily office meals and eligible meal delivery credits.
- Relocation support for eligible employees.
- Equity and performance-related bonuses may also be included in total compensation.
