Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. Coinbase Advisor is an RIA-licensed agentic trading system: an AI advisor inside the Coinbase app that converses about users' portfolios, provides personalized financial advice, and executes trades on their behalf. This role is primarily frontend on a full-stack team, owning interfaces that make agentic trading fast, clear, and trustworthy for millions of customers.

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Employees are expected to meet quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.”

Responsibilities

Own the Coinbase Advisor frontend end to end across React Native mobile and web, including the agentic chat interface, Strategies experience, and entry points into the product.
Build real-time, streaming interfaces for AI-driven advice, trade recommendations, and autonomous execution, where sub-second responsiveness and visual clarity are compliance requirements.
Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering, evaluations, and conversation analysis.
Extend Go backend services and LLM integrations, including the LLM Gateway and Google Gemini, when required for the frontend experience.
Drive frontend architecture for the Advisor product area, including streaming state, real-time market data rendering, and stateful conversational user experiences.
Partner with design, engineering, and the registered investment adviser to take features from concept to launch within regulatory guardrails.

Requirements

5+ years of professional engineering experience shipping consumer-facing products at scale.
Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and React.
Demonstrated ownership of frontend architecture for a product area, including state management, API integration patterns, and performance improvements that measurably improved latency or reliability.
Experience building production systems with large language models, including agentic systems, tool calling, streaming responses, or conversational interfaces.
Proven ability to drive projects from zero to production with minimal oversight while owning product and technical decisions.
Backend fluency in Go.
Familiarity with crypto, trading, or financial products.
Responsible use of generative AI, maintaining human oversight while delivering business-ready outputs and measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation

Annual base salary: $186,065–$218,900 USD, varying by location and excluding equity and bonus.
Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.
