Details

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Employees are expected to meet quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.”

As a Frontend Software Engineer on the Coinbase Card team within the Consumer Product Group, you will build and ship user-facing experiences for Coinbase’s card products, including the Coinbase One Card (credit) and Coinbase Card (debit). The team is consolidating both products onto a unified card platform. You will join a small team with high ownership, greenfield feature work, and direct impact on how millions of customers discover, activate, and use their cards.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end frontend development for core crypto money movement experiences, including sending, receiving, and transaction status tracking across web and mobile.
Drive measurable improvements in customer journey latency, availability, and service-level objectives for payment flows.
Build new user-facing features, such as contact management systems and real-time transaction status trackers.
Partner with product, design, and backend engineering to scope, prioritize, and ship projects that reduce customer experience contact rates and improve the customer experience.
Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks across payment flows, reducing end-to-end latency and improving reliability for millions of users.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in React and React Native.
Proven track record of shipping consumer-facing products end-to-end in a high-scale environment, with a focus on performance, reliability, and user experience.
Experience owning service-level objectives and driving measurable improvements in latency and availability for user-facing flows.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and operate as a senior technical voice on a team with mixed experience levels.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation

Annual base salary: $186,065–$218,900 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.
