Details
ClickHouse is expanding its certification program as more users adopt its platform for real-time analytics, data warehousing, observability, and AI workloads. The role will take ownership of the certification program, expand certification exam offerings, and build a community around ClickHouse-certified professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop performance-based, hands-on ClickHouse certification exams covering use cases such as real-time analytics, observability, and data warehousing.
- Work with company subject matter experts to create job task analyses for exams.
- Grade and maintain all certification exams, including writing grading scripts.
- Develop quizzes for course-completion badges and ClickHouse credentials.
- Establish a community presence for ClickHouse-certified professionals through social media, user conferences, and meetups.
- Track and report certification-program metrics and KPIs.
- Work with certification and badging vendors to ensure proper delivery of exams and badges.
- Provide customer support to learners interested in obtaining ClickHouse certifications.
- Travel occasionally to meetups and conferences to promote ClickHouse to the community.
Requirements
- Self-motivated attitude with the desire and determination to complete projects in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Proven experience developing certification exams and quizzes for highly technical audiences, such as software engineers and database developers.
- Experience with SQL.
- Technical breadth and depth in areas such as DBMS, OLAP, cloud and SaaS platforms, distributed systems, software engineering, and big data.
- High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
Bonus Points
- Five or more years of experience in certification in the technical software industry.
- Experience with curriculum development or instruction for databases and/or distributed systems.
- Experience with the ClickHouse database.
- Experience with one or more cloud service providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience building software certification exams.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, support, product, and development teams.
- Technical degree, such as Computer Science or a related field.

Compensation
The typical starting salary for this role in the United States is $169,000–$191,000 USD per year. In US premium markets, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area, the typical starting salary is $188,000–$212,000 USD per year. Actual compensation depends on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.
