Responsibilities

Build scalable and reliable backend services, webhooks, and public-facing APIs.
Write high-quality, maintainable code to reliably process and evaluate data signals in real time, solving complex problems at scale.
Own medium-sized technical projects, translating requirements and constraints into reliable, secure, and explainable system architectures.
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation, debugging, operating, and maintaining high-visibility systems using established runbooks and best practices.
Work directly with product teams to understand internal and external user pain points, build effective solutions, and help inform the team’s roadmap.

Requirements

A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 3 years of related Software Engineering experience; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields, plus 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s related Software Engineering experience.
At least 3 years of experience with each of the following:
- Java, Ruby, Python, and Go.
- Building scalable and reliable backend services, webhooks, and public-facing APIs.
- Designing, building, and deploying distributed backend services in production, including concurrency, fault tolerance, and service reliability at scale.
- Relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL or NoSQL data stores, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling for high-throughput workloads.
- Stream processing or event-driven architectures using Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent technologies, including producing, consuming, and reliably processing high-volume data streams.
- Translating product and engineering requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable system designs, including service boundaries, failure modes, and observability strategies.
- Building automated systems or tooling to instrument, measure, and evaluate the end-to-end customer experience of digital products, including test automation frameworks, signal collection pipelines, or quality evaluation workflows.
- Developing interactive frontend components, dashboards, or data reports using React and D3.js to visualize customer behavior, product metrics, and operational signals in real time.
