About the Team
Stripe’s SMB Solutions Architecture team works with technical and business leaders, payments leaders, and product engineering teams in the mid-market segment to evangelize Stripe’s solutions. Solutions Architects identify and propose Stripe solutions for complex business challenges, establish best practices, provide business and technical thought leadership, and act as trusted advisors. They also work on scalable business processes and collaborate with customer and partner resources to deliver quickly adoptable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build consultative, trusted relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers.
- Provide business and technical thought leadership and help customers solve mission-critical business challenges.
- Architect business models that enable new monetization opportunities and growth for customers and Stripe.
- Build relationships with CIOs, CTOs, COOs, CROs, CDOs, and Heads of Payments.
- Understand customer business objectives and apply Stripe’s Payments, SaaS, Banking-as-a-Service, and Link Network solutions to customer challenges.
- Secure technical wins for Stripe products by delivering demos, responding to RFPs, evangelizing Stripe products, and collaborating on customer-aligned narratives.
- Create scalable customer-engagement processes, including webinars and office hours, as well as reusable videos, templates, and playbooks.
- Expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts by introducing new capabilities and local payment methods in global markets and business units.
- Collaborate with go-to-market, product, and marketing stakeholders to deliver executive briefings for SMB accounts.
- Communicate customer insights, trends, and opportunities to the product team.
- Work with professional services and partners to accelerate activations and time to live.
- Collaborate with partners to help Stripe scale and reach its total addressable market.
- Travel approximately 25% to connect with users and collaborate internally.
Requirements
- Experience at a medium to large software company, preferably in payment technology, focused on business priorities, technology strategy, and solution design.
- Demonstrated ability to become a trusted advisor to senior executives and facilitate customer success through business-value identification, discovery and demo cycles, road mapping, and execution strategies.
- External customer-facing experience and the ability to present and architect Stripe solutions and persuade decision-makers to leverage Stripe technology.
- Experience in web architecture, enterprise architecture, or defining and optimizing financial business processes.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role, such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Customer Success, or Professional Services Delivery, at a fintech, payment-technology, or global software enterprise; or at least 3 years of total relevant experience in software development, enterprise sales or architecture, business development, or related fields.
- Experience presenting and architecting solutions.
- Deep understanding of or experience writing code in at least two primary deployment languages, such as Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, or Go.
- Outstanding oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness and ability to learn Stripe solutions, including Payments, Billing, and Connect.
- Ability to understand how technologies and systems such as ERP, CRM, Billing, Tax, and legacy systems interact.
- Executive engagement skills and presence, with the ability to establish relationships with key decision-makers and build credibility at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple opportunities and customers.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with the broader go-to-market team.
- Experience solving open-ended business problems using technology and creative thinking.
- Ability to travel according to business needs.
