Details

Stripe's Dashboard Product team builds user experiences for merchants, focusing on high-quality, intuitive, and reliable interfaces across critical Dashboard surfaces. The team works closely with designers, product teams, and engineers to develop shared components, design paradigms, and frontend experiences. It also explores how AI agents can create new ways for merchants to interact with their products.

Responsibilities

Own frontend quality, consistency, and visual craft for the Stripe Dashboard's highest-traffic pages, especially core logged-in surfaces.
Identify and execute opportunities to improve consistency, performance, and polish across the Dashboard.
Partner closely with Design and Product as the technical voice on frontend feasibility, quality standards, and implementation approach.
Contribute to and advocate for the Stripe design system, ensuring components and patterns work across the Dashboard and other product surfaces.
Establish frontend quality standards, including patterns, code review practices, and implementation guidance for junior engineers.
Prototype and explore AI-powered experiences that change how merchants discover and interact with Stripe products.
Collaborate with backend engineers on integration points while maintaining a primary focus on frontend craft.
Mentor early-career engineers and help raise the team's quality bar.

Requirements

Staff-level experience, typically 10+ years building and shipping complex, user-facing web applications at large scale.
Deep expertise in modern frontend development, strong opinions on UI quality, and the ability to execute with high visual precision.
A track record of driving measurable improvements to UI consistency and polish across large, distributed products.
Experience working closely with Design teams and translating design intent into high-quality production implementations.
Demonstrated ability to work across a large codebase and bring coherence to high-traffic product surfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

A passion for crafting web experiences, demonstrated through a design portfolio and frontend code involving engaging microsites, Figma plugins, creative code, design systems, or similar work.
Familiarity with frontend performance engineering, including profiling, instrumentation, and optimization.
Interest in AI-driven user experiences, including experience prototyping or shipping AI-powered features.
Experience mentoring early-career engineers and contributing to team-wide quality standards.
Comfort working across the full stack, with a clear preference for frontend development.
Advanced proficiency with React, including interactions, animation, performance, and refinement.
Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.
