Anthropic is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to build the technical foundation for educating customers and enterprises at scale. The role focuses on creating AI-native educational experiences, including adaptive content delivery, responsive assessments, competency verification, credentialing, and scalable learning infrastructure.

You will own the technical vision and execution for Anthropic’s AI-driven education platform, including platform capabilities, enterprise readiness, data architecture, AI-augmented pipelines, integrations, and delivery systems. You will collaborate with education professionals, trainers, educators, security, infrastructure, data, GTM, and developer relations teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own an enterprise-ready education platform and infrastructure covering authentication and SSO, learner data models, content delivery, credentialing, and progress tracking.
• Define the technical vision for AI-driven educational experiences and determine what to build, extend, or replace as requirements evolve.
• Build AI-augmented pipelines for content generation, real-time adaptation, assessment delivery, and quality assurance.
• Design adaptive learning paths, competency-based progression, and AI-evaluated demonstrations of skill.
• Work with security, infrastructure, and data teams to meet organizational standards and integrate with existing architecture.
• Build platform abstractions that allow non-engineers to configure, extend, and experiment with educational experiences.
• Make product-level decisions about how the learning platform and experience operate.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to take a platform from zero to production at scale.
• Genuine passion for education and strong opinions about educational technology in an AI-native world.
• A strong eye for quality educational content and understanding of the complex systems that produce it.
• Full-stack engineering skills, particularly backend systems, databases, APIs, authentication, reliability, and infrastructure.
• Experience building and operating platforms that reliably serve many concurrent users.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ownership, including translating pedagogical intent into technical architecture without heavy specification.
• Experience working with security and infrastructure teams to meet organizational requirements while maintaining development velocity.
• Experience using AI tools in engineering workflows and curiosity about how AI changes educational platforms.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The required field of study must be relevant to the role through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Strongly Preferred Experience

• Building or significantly contributing to learning platforms, credentialing systems, or educational technology products.
• Background in or exposure to learning science, instructional design, or educational research.
• Experience with SSO and identity technologies such as SAML and OAuth.
• Experience with badging standards such as Open Badges or integrations such as LTI.
• Familiarity with systems that incorporate LLM capabilities as core infrastructure.
• Experience at a high-growth company building platform infrastructure used by other teams.
• Experience designing systems configured and operated by non-technical users.

Compensation

• Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD

Work Policy and Immigration

• Hybrid work policy: Staff are expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more office time.
• Anthropic sponsors visas and will make every reasonable effort to obtain a visa for candidates who receive an offer, although sponsorship is not guaranteed for every role or candidate.
