About the Team

Trust is central to Stripe’s mission. The Risk team builds products and infrastructure that Stripe businesses, product teams, regulators, and financial partners rely on. The Technical Program Manager team delivers cross-Stripe programs that help businesses grow on Stripe, enable products to launch safely at scale, and maintain Stripe’s position as a trusted financial network.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of Technical Program Managers and Program General Managers to deliver Stripe’s most complex, cross-cutting, and critical programs.
Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of TPMs.
Act as a Technical Program Manager on complex initiatives requiring hands-on leadership.
Build, lead, and manage high-performing teams, managers, and individuals across multiple locations, including performance reviews, continual feedback, and career growth.
Define and deliver long-term vision and multi-year strategy for company-wide programs in collaboration with product management and engineering leadership.
Define success criteria and delivery plans, track risks, and ensure successful execution of Risk’s most complex programs.
Improve how teams communicate and operate to increase productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

5+ years of management experience across varying levels of seniority, including managing managers.
8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management.
Extensive experience finding and developing talent through coaching, mentoring, and career development conversations.
Experience driving technical programs from ideation through large-scale delivery and leading teams of Technical Program Managers.
Experience operating autonomously and leading across multiple teams with stakeholders from different disciplines and time zones.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Comfortable working with geographically distributed teams.
Experience managing teams that designed and operated critical infrastructure.
Empathetic to customer needs while taking a visionary approach to product and program delivery.
Excited to collaborate with teammates across Stripe’s organization.
Previous experience as an engineer or in a similar technical role.
