OpenAI's Research Team develops advanced AI systems that are powerful, safe, and beneficial for everyone. The Research IP Partnerships team is seeking Technical Program Managers to streamline the integration of applied research with external strategic partners, synthesize research across cross-functional teams, enable model deployment, and support the adoption of new technologies.

This role acts as a connection between OpenAI and its partners, enabling them to deploy advanced AI models while increasing research velocity and ensuring successful, collaborative deployments. The role is based in San Francisco, California, and follows a hybrid work model requiring three days in the office per week.

Responsibilities

• Build and share a deep understanding of frontier AI model development.
• Partner with internal and external teams to drive deployment of the latest OpenAI technologies.
• Manage critical inquiries from technical and non-technical partners.
• Design and implement simple, scalable processes that solve complex problems.
• Deliver high-profile pipeline and tooling projects on tight deadlines.
• Work across research and engineering to align goals, streamline communication, and support business priorities.

Requirements

• Experience in strategic partnerships and technical program management.
• Ability to right-size processes to align stakeholders while ensuring speed of delivery.
• Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills and empathy for the roles involved in deploying research.
• Ability to design and build tools using code, no-code, low-code, or AI approaches to facilitate internal processes.
• Excellent written, presentation, and visual communication skills.
• Engagement and curiosity about the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Helpful Technologies and Skills

• Agentic models or OpenAI LLM APIs.
• No-code and low-code platforms such as Airtable, Zapier, and Retool.
