Details

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company, with quarterly in-person working sessions called “surges.” This is a 12-week internship during summer 2027.

As a User Research Intern, you will join the User Research team to help researchers, designers, and product managers understand user needs across products such as Coinbase Cloud and developer tools. You will work on complex product problems, create research reports that inform design and product decisions, and build foundational skills in UX research at scale.

Responsibilities

Own one or more research projects alongside researchers, designers, and product managers to investigate a product problem or area.
Plan and execute research to solve complex, ambiguous product questions using appropriate methodologies.
Deliver research reports that clearly communicate findings and provide actionable design and product recommendations.
Partner with cross-functional teammates to translate user insights into thoughtful product experiences that help people engage with the crypto economy.

Requirements

Actively pursuing a career in user research through a degree in a research-related field or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of general research principles, including experimental design, bias, and confounds.
Working knowledge of UX research principles, including usability testing and design thinking.
Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly, supported by a final report from a past research project completed through school, a bootcamp, or extracurricular activities. The report must be uploaded with the application.
Basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and Coinbase’s role in the crypto economy, with an interest in learning more.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
