The FECCS Data Products team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data platforms, data pipelines, and analytics solutions for the Detecting Financial Crime (DFC) data domain. The role focuses on data transformation using PySpark and SQL, supporting reporting and data processes, improving data quality, rationalizing the IT landscape, and helping the bank comply with DFC rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a DevOps team member in a Scrum team within the Data Engineer Chapter.
  • Refine, analyze, design, develop, test, maintain, and deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions for enterprise analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, scalability, monitoring, and operational excellence across the data platform.
  • Implement and maintain source control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data engineering solutions.
  • Enhance existing data products and platform capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
  • Contribute to data architecture, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing through engineering communities, guilds, circles, and technology events.
  • Advocate Agile, DevOps, and DataOps principles.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics solutions on Azure.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, PySpark, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with data ingestion, orchestration, ETL/ELT processes, and scalable data transformation pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modelling using Kimball, data warehousing, Lakehouse architecture, data governance, permissions, and row-level security.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Explorer, Fabric Eventhouse, Delta Lake, or similar modern data platform technologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and Agile ways of working.
  • Experience with PL/SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience supporting downstream analytics and reporting solutions through curated datasets, semantic models, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT service management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Economic Crime area is a plus.
  • Knowledge of incident management and operations, such as ServiceNow, is a plus.
  • DP-203, DP-600, or equivalent Azure/Fabric experience is a plus.

The role is part of an agile, full-fledged DevOps team. The language of instruction is generally English, and the team works in a hybrid environment.
