Frontend Engineer

Details

Funda is looking for a Frontend Engineer to build and maintain interfaces used by millions of users. The role focuses on Vue and Nuxt, frontend architecture, performance, testing, documentation, and collaboration within a cross-functional Scrum product team. The engineer will contribute to Funda's component library, built with RekaUI, and its AppShell.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain interfaces used by millions of users.
• Collaborate with design, backend, QA, and product colleagues in a Scrum environment.
• Review pull requests and provide feedback.
• Contribute to company-wide frontend architecture and standards, including the RekaUI-based component library and AppShell.
• Communicate with stakeholders to balance product goals and performance budgets.
• Monitor and improve performance, including Core Web Vitals.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and across the frontend guild.
• Suggest improvements to the component library and AppShell and help maintain their performance.
• Work on server-side rendering performance, A/B tests, responsive UI fixes, and other frontend improvements.

Requirements

• Currently living in the Netherlands.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Experience with Vue.js; Nuxt.js experience is preferred.
• Open to or familiar with Flutter.
• Understanding of frontend performance and how to improve Core Web Vitals.
• Appreciation for testing and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in collaborative teams.
• Interest in sharing knowledge and improving code quality.
• A T-shaped engineering profile, with frontend expertise and broader technical understanding, including API schemas and architectural decisions.

Team

The role is part of a cross-functional product team of 5–8 people working with designers, product managers, backend engineers, and QA. The role also involves collaboration with the broader frontend team to maintain shared packages and shape frontend strategy across Funda.
