iOS Developer (For Independent Contractors)

Details

This role involves building and owning software applications and services, ensuring code quality, application security, system reliability, and scalable architecture. The contractor will also lead architectural changes and support an Android developer architecturally.

Responsibilities

Building Software Applications

• Build software applications using relevant development languages and knowledge of systems, services, and tools appropriate to the business area.
• Write readable and reusable code using standard patterns and libraries.
• Refactor and simplify code by introducing design patterns when necessary.
• Ensure application quality by following standard testing techniques and methods aligned with the test strategy.
• Maintain data security, integrity, and quality by following company standards and best practices.

End-to-End System Ownership

• Own services end to end by monitoring application health and performance, setting and monitoring relevant metrics, and acting when thresholds are violated.
• Reduce risk and obtain customer feedback through continuous delivery and experimentation frameworks.
• Independently manage applications or services through deployment and production operations.

Software Systems Design

• Evaluate architecture solutions based on cost, business requirements, technology requirements, and emerging technologies.
• Describe the implications of changing existing systems or adding new systems through a broad, high-level understanding of infrastructure and system architecture.
• Design adaptable solutions that meet current business requirements and support future enhancements.

Critical Thinking

• Systematically identify patterns and underlying issues in complex situations and develop solutions using logical and analytical thinking.

Requirements

• 10–12 years of experience.
• Swift.
• Ability to support the Android developer architecturally.
• Ability to lead architectural changes.
• Strong technical stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work closely with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to lead the migration project from Pearl to Java.
• Self-starter with high agency.
• Ability to act as a strategic partner to the team.

Contract Details

• Independent contractor position.
• Six-month timeline: August 28, 2026, to February 27, 2027.
• 40 hours per week.
