Details

Airbnb's Community Support Training team is seeking a Learning Tools Manager to own the learning technology stack and the team responsible for it. The role covers the Learning Management System (LMS), simulation, authoring, design, and learner-facing tools. The manager will lead an end-to-end LMS transition over the next year while partnering with data and analytics, engineering, sourcing, and contracts teams.

Responsibilities

LMS Ownership And Transition

  • Serve as the primary administrator and strategic owner of Airbnb's Community Support Organization LMS, including configuration, permissions, integrations, and content architecture.
  • Lead the end-to-end LMS transition, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, procurement, implementation, data migration, and change management.
  • Define platform success metrics and governance frameworks for system health, data quality, and learner experience.
  • Partner with engineering and IT on SSO, API integrations, and platform connectors across the HR and operations technology ecosystem.

Learning Tools Ecosystem

  • Own the roadmap and day-to-day management of simulation tools such as Zenarate, authoring tools such as Articulate, design tools, and learner-facing platforms.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and strategic owner of the Community Support Organization's TMS, supporting operations and reporting needs.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and recommend learning technologies aligned with departmental and company-wide goals.
  • Build scalable processes for tool onboarding, training, and adoption.
  • Monitor the experiential and enterprise learning technology landscape and identify opportunities for cost efficiency.

Stakeholder Partnership, Measurement, And Reporting

  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to design and maintain learning dashboards and reporting pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering on technical integrations, custom tooling, and platform infrastructure decisions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including renewals, negotiations, RFP processes, contracts, and compliance requirements.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert and escalation point for learning technology questions across the Community Support Training team.
  • Define and track KPIs for platform performance, learner engagement, completion rates, and training effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards; Tableau experience is a strong plus.
  • Conduct regular audits of tool utilization and learner experience to identify improvement opportunities and inform investment decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team while fostering an inclusive culture and establishing clear goals.
  • Manage capacity and workload across the tooling ecosystem, LMS administration, transition activities, and ongoing operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in learning technology, L&D systems administration, instructional technology, or a closely related field within a technology company or high-growth environment.
  • Experience owning or leading an organizational LMS such as Cornerstone, Workday Learning, SAP SuccessFactors, Docebo, LearnUpon, TalentLMS, or similar.
  • Experience with at least one LMS implementation, migration, or major upgrade.
  • Familiarity with learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or iSpring; SCORM files; and simulation or scenario-based learning platforms.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology projects from scoping through delivery.
  • Experience working with data and analytics teams and presenting learning data to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, RFP processes, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships.
  • Prior people management experience, including performance reviews and professional development.
  • Strong project management, communication, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and measurement-framework skills.
  • Comfort with APIs, SSO/SAML, SCORM/xAPI, data integrations, AI-driven training tools, and enterprise AI. Coding experience is not required.
  • Collaborative and inclusive approach to working across functions and time zones.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in customer support, contact center, or operations training environments.
  • Familiarity with HRIS integrations such as Workday and their interaction with LMS platforms.
  • PMP, Agile/Scrum, CPTD, or ATD certification.
