Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies use Stripe to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities.
Specialist Solutions Architects are domain experts aligned to specific Stripe solutions and customer buying centers. They provide in-depth product and customer expertise, support complex opportunities, advise on go-to-market sales plays, and provide insights to product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert on Stripe Billing, Invoicing, and Revenue Recognition products.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of order-to-cash processes, including subscription and usage-based billing, dunning, proration, and revenue recognition workflows.
- Conduct discovery of customers' billing architectures and business models, and architect solutions aligned with quote-to-cash requirements.
- Advise customers on complex billing scenarios, including mid-cycle upgrades, entitlement management, multi-currency revenue recognition, and integrations with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workday, and SAP.
- Create reusable assets, including reference architectures and best practices, for sales and pre-sales organizations.
- Partner with the Billing product sales team, drive opportunities for Stripe's largest customers, lead solution strategy, and own key customer relationships.
- Serve as the voice of the customer to influence product and feature prioritization.
- Identify product, industry, implementation, and competitive trends and provide insights to influence Stripe's billing product roadmap.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Stripe's engineering team and drive them to resolution.
- Represent the technical health of the business on quarterly sales forecast calls and highlight deal blockers with proposed solutions.
- Support marketing events, including executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or solutions architecture, focused on billing, subscription, or revenue management platforms.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with the order-to-cash process in a SaaS environment, including subscription lifecycle management, dunning, and revenue recognition.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition standards, including ASC 606 and IFRS 15, and their application to SaaS and usage-based business models.
- Experience working with or implementing billing and ERP software such as NetSuite, Workday, SAP, Zuora, BillingPlatform, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering and API integration patterns.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships, handle ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications.
- Familiarity with usage-based pricing, tiered models, multi-entity revenue recognition, and hybrid subscription and consumption models.
- Experience with CRM platforms and their integration with billing systems.
- Experience as a subject matter expert in a relevant industry, vertical, or product.
