Connect is Stripe’s product for marketplaces, on-demand services, ecommerce site builders, invoicing platforms, professional SaaS products, fundraising platforms, rental management platforms, and more. Connect enables users to link multiple parties to exchange goods or services and provides reliable payment routing between these parties.

By powering fast, flexible, compliant, and cost-efficient payment routing, Connect enables businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to bring previously offline payments online.

Why This Role

This role involves defining a foundational product area at Stripe and turning changing user and product needs into durable platform primitives that work across products, industries, and geographies.

The role combines product strategy with hands-on execution. The successful candidate will address questions such as what a platform should be able to model, what should be simple by default but flexible when needed, and how Stripe can make complex financial infrastructure feel effortless for platforms and their users.

The abstractions created through this work will be reused across Connect and Stripe, shaping what new products platforms can build and how quickly they can bring them to market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance a compelling product vision for Connect.
• Devise the strategy for high-impact initiatives serving modern marketplaces and software platforms.
• Translate product strategy and customer needs into clear product requirements.
• Oversee execution across the teams involved in delivering these initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, analytics, marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams.
• Meet with customers to understand their needs and gather feedback.
• Present product plans to Stripe’s leadership team and incorporate feedback.

Requirements

• More than three years of product management experience.
• A computer science background or equivalent experience.
• Strong product judgment.
• Ability to lead products that require coordination across multiple teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Persistence and resourcefulness in driving successful outcomes for products and teams.

Collaboration

Product development at Stripe is highly collaborative. The role involves working closely with engineering, design, analytics, marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams, as well as engaging directly with customers and presenting plans to Stripe’s leadership team.
