Details

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform that enables businesses to accept payments, grow revenue, and launch new business opportunities. The Payments organization develops products and platforms for payment processing, regional and non-card payment methods, in-person payments, checkout experiences, and Link.

The Product Manager will own a critical part of the Stripe payments stack, define product strategy that balances user needs with infrastructure complexity, and deliver products impacting Stripe revenue and millions of businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the long-term vision and strategy for the assigned product pillar, and create and execute a compelling roadmap.
  • Build deep empathy with Stripe merchants and financial partners, understand global payment industry trends and competitor offerings, and influence the Stripe roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, legal, and other teams to shape product experiences.
  • Ensure the platform is reliable and performant, including system reliability, API extensibility, and latency.
  • Use metrics to form product perspectives and analytics to measure success.

Requirements

  • 7–12+ years of industry product management experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, financial infrastructure, or an adjacent domain such as commerce platforms, banking, or payment networks.
  • Track record of building impactful products and partnering with engineers, designers, and external partners to build complex systems at scale.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate user problems precisely and concisely.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including defining and tracking success metrics, running experiments such as holdback tests, and using data to measure impact on revenue, conversion, and margins.
  • Experience aligning multiple stakeholders, developing joint roadmaps, and navigating competing internal and external priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with significant autonomy and responsibility.
  • Experience delivering multi-quarter roadmaps and influencing diverse stakeholders toward shared goals.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort with complex ecosystem and platform-level problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, or Applied Sciences.
  • Demonstrated success and strong execution in building payment products.
  • Experience managing products at scale with high transaction volumes, where availability, latency, and marginal basis points matter.
