Senior Data Scientist, Consumer

Reddit's Data Science Team is seeking experienced Data Scientists to partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Business Development teams to build and improve systems that drive user and revenue growth. The role will focus on the Consumer product area and may involve measurement and metrics design, experimentation, causal analysis, deep data analysis, and research.

Responsibilities

• Develop action-oriented insights to drive product strategy through observational causal analysis and experiment meta-analysis, and communicate results to stakeholders up to the C-suite.
• Improve experimentation practices by guiding the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests.
• Create ETLs, tables, dashboards, and other self-service tools for data scientists and cross-functional partners.
• Design, evaluate, and measure team-level KPIs to support quarterly goal setting and demonstrate team impact.
• Engage regularly with stakeholders to gather feedback, share progress, and maintain alignment on business goals and outcomes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and business partners on data science best practices and methods.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
• Master's degree holders: 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
• Ph.D. holders: 4+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
• Expertise querying relational databases using SQL and programming languages such as R or Python.
• Deep understanding of online experimentation, A/B testing, causal inference, and statistical techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in innovative, fast-paced environments with a bias toward action.
• Strong technical communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to address ambiguous and undefined problems by creating an action plan, gathering feedback, and iterating.
• Strong technical background, business acumen, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.

Compensation

The base salary range is $190,800–$267,100 USD. The role may also be eligible for commission depending on the position offered. Reddit provides additional benefits to U.S.-based employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
