Senior IT Systems Engineer

SpaceXAI is seeking a senior individual contributor with deep expertise in modern IT ecosystems to drive automation, mature enterprise workforce identity and access management (IAM), and architect scalable, secure SaaS integrations. The role partners with IT Services, Information Security, HR, Finance, and Engineering teams; owns the deployment and integration of mission-critical IT systems; serves as a primary escalation point for complex IT outages and architectural challenges; and guides the evolution of hybrid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of core SaaS platforms, including Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, and other IT tools.
• Own end-to-end support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of applications, systems, and complex interconnections to ensure high availability, security, and a seamless user experience.
• Architect and advance the workforce IAM program, including SSO, lifecycle management, provisioning and deprovisioning, access governance, and policy enforcement.
• Serve as a subject matter expert providing strategic technical guidance for business expansion, system scalability, and infrastructure maturity.
• Author, maintain, and evolve IT documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
• Identify environmental gaps, risks, and opportunities, and lead initiatives to improve security, operational efficiency, and resilience, with a focus on automating manual and repetitive processes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, IAM trends, and automation platforms; develop business cases and lead proofs of concept or adoption recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT capabilities with organizational goals.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience administering and optimizing SaaS applications in hybrid, high-growth environments.
• Advanced proficiency with Okta, including Advanced Server Access and Workflows, Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise, Atlassian, and related tools.
• 4+ years of experience with n8n, Okta Workflows, or other iPaaS and automation platforms such as Workato, Zapier, BetterCloud, or custom integrations.
• Expert knowledge of IAM principles and protocols, including SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM, JIT provisioning, SWA, RBAC, ABAC, and access governance best practices.
• Strong experience designing and working with APIs for custom integrations, data flows, and automation.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for monitoring, alerting, and operational efficiency, using technologies such as Google Apps Manager (GAM), Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Working knowledge and administrative experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, including resolving sophisticated cross-system incidents under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business impact, own key deliverables, and complete projects in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
• Ability to adapt to dynamic requirements, handle time-sensitive escalations, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Track record of success as a Senior IT Systems Engineer or equivalent in a fast-moving corporate or technology environment.
• Okta certifications, such as Okta Certified Professional, Administrator, or Consultant, are strongly preferred. Relevant Google Workspace certifications are a plus.
• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent demonstrated experience may also qualify.
• Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
