Details

Confluent is building a data streaming platform that moves information in near real time. The Kora Compute team develops a managed service for customers who require high availability, performance, security, scalability, and low ownership costs.

Responsibilities

Build highly available, reliable, secure, scalable, and multi-tenant compute infrastructure for Kora.
Design, architect, and develop technical solutions end to end.
Deliver complex production projects with a strong focus on quality.
Solve challenging customer problems and improve customer success.
Work collaboratively with the team and key stakeholders.
Identify root causes rather than treating symptoms, and solve complex technical problems.
Make decisions that benefit the team and company.

Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
4+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure or cloud networking experience.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
Experience building and operating large-scale cloud systems.
Solid understanding of systems operations, including disks, networks, and operating systems.
Ability to work effectively as a self-starter and team member.
Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go, or another statically typed language.

Preferred Qualifications

In-depth familiarity with the JVM.
Strong background in distributed storage systems or databases.
Experience with resource management and quality of service (QoS).
Experience or knowledge of public clouds, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience working with databases or data storage.
Interest in technical evangelism, such as speaking at technology conferences or writing blog posts about Kafka.
