The Business Marketing team helps organizations understand, adopt, and get value from OpenAI’s products. The team works across product marketing, content, creative, and web to connect the company’s technology with the needs of the people and businesses using it.

The Senior Web Experience Strategist will shape the customer journey across openai.com, helping audiences ranging from individual developers to large enterprises discover what is possible, find relevant information, and take the right next step. The role covers the full experience, including how people arrive, explore products and use cases, learn through content, and move toward getting started or speaking with OpenAI.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on audience needs, product understanding, and experience strategy. The successful candidate will partner with Web, Design, Content, and Product Marketing to build, test, and improve customer journeys. The role is based in San Francisco and requires working in the office three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Define audience journeys from discovery and learning through evaluation, adoption, and deployment.
• Shape navigation, information architecture, and connections across products, use cases, stories, and resources.
• Identify what visitors need at each stage and partner with Content and Creative to build understanding through storytelling.
• Connect self-service experiences with human support, enabling visitors to explore independently, get started, or reach the appropriate OpenAI team.
• Create journey maps, experience briefs, and rough wireframes.
• Partner with Web on a long-term roadmap and remain involved through delivery.
• Use research, visitor behavior, and experimentation to identify gaps and measure whether visitors understand their options and can take useful next steps.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience leading web strategy, digital experience, UX, or product strategy, either in-house at a technology company or within a relevant agency or consultancy.
• Experience shaping and improving complex websites, preferably for B2B technology companies serving multiple products and audiences.
• A portfolio explaining strategic decisions and individual contributions.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to connect technical capabilities to audience needs, practical use cases, and adoption paths.
• Experience with customer journeys, information architecture, navigation, and content strategy across a complete experience.
• Understanding of when self-service helps customers move forward and when a go-to-market conversation adds value.
• Ability to turn ambiguous needs into clear direction, collaborate across disciplines, and use research and experimentation to improve work.
