Details

Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice. The Client Infrastructure team builds the systems that process millions of events every minute, including the open-source Relay and Symbolicator projects.

The role involves building and scaling the core infrastructure that powers Sentry's data ingestion, solving complex engineering challenges, and contributing to open-source projects used by developers worldwide.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate globally distributed, horizontally scalable infrastructure for reliably ingesting mission-critical data from customer applications.
Collaborate with the Client Infrastructure team to improve and evolve data processing pipelines and supporting services.
Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, performance optimization, and high-throughput data processing.
Use multiple programming languages and technologies, primarily Rust and Python, to address system-level challenges.
Partner with Infrastructure and Operations teams to architect and implement solutions capable of handling more than one billion events daily.
Ensure correctness and maintainability through comprehensive unit and integration testing and clear documentation.
Participate in an on-call rotation to support service stability and operational health.

Requirements

2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with compiled programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
Experience developing high-quality, high-performance software to solve complex problems.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Passion for software and system design.
Good written and spoken English communication skills.
Bonus: experience with Python, Kafka, Redis, or Postgres.
Interest in clean, performant, high-quality code, open-source software, agile development, and products built for developers.

Benefits

The salary range is EUR 81,000–99,000 gross per year, with equity offered.
The legally required minimum wage for the position is EUR 47,400 gross per year under the applicable IT collective agreement.
