Airbnb's Passport & Commerce organization builds the trusted account and commerce foundation that supports guests and hosts across sign-up, profiles, connections, bookings, benefits, and business transactions. The team works closely with Payments and Wallet Engineering, Identity & Privacy, Profile & Community, and Guest & Host product, design, and data science partners.

As a Software Engineer on the Web team, you will build web experiences for account features used by millions of guests and hosts. You will own well-scoped features from technical design through launch, collaborating with backend, iOS, Android, and design counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Design and build web features using modern, component-driven React and TypeScript.
• Partner with product and design teams to turn concepts into polished, accessible web experiences.
• Collaborate with backend, iOS, and Android engineers to maintain consistent feature behavior and data across platforms.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Participate actively in code and design reviews.
• Learn from and collaborate with senior engineers.
• Contribute to shared web patterns and best practices as the team scales.
• Troubleshoot and resolve web application bugs, performance issues, and reliability problems.
• Deliver reliable, performant, and polished web experiences with parity across iOS and Android surfaces.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional front-end or web engineering experience, including shipping features in a large-scale, production consumer web application.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and React or a comparable modern framework.
• Experience with component-driven architecture, state management, and data-fetching patterns such as GraphQL.
• Experience working with backend, iOS, and Android engineers to integrate APIs and maintain consistent cross-platform experiences.
• A track record of delivering features from technical design through launch and iteration, with increasing scope and independence.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a habit of seeking and acting on feedback.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity on a newly formed team establishing new surfaces.
• Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility including WCAG, responsive design, and CI/deployment practices for a large-scale consumer site.

Location

This position is US remote eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base pay range: $162,000–$186,000 USD per year.
• The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
