About the Team

The Solutions Architecture Team partners with users to realize their full potential through the adoption of prescriptive solutions that drive growth and success.

The team works with founders, C-level executives, finance leaders, product design and engineering teams at large global brands and platforms that are building financial services solutions with Stripe. The team works closely with Account Executives, Professional Services, Customer Success Managers, Partners, Technical Account Managers, Product, and Engineering teams to develop and execute on Stripe’s account strategy in the market.

Responsibilities

• Execute meticulous technical discovery, conducting in-depth business analysis and background research on customer operations, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to build a foundational understanding that informs every proposed solution.
• Lead strategic engagements, guiding APAC and China users through a structured discovery process aligned with their core business priorities.
• Design technically sound solutions and communicate them through executive briefings, comprehensive readouts, tailored presentations, and solution demonstrations.
• Identify and articulate expansion opportunities within existing accounts, including new global markets, business units, capabilities, and local payment methods.
• Act as the voice of the customer within Stripe’s product and engineering teams by capturing field insights, emerging trends, and new opportunities.
• Serve as the technical counterpoint to the sales executive, providing technical insight and designing robust solutions for prospective and existing platform users.
• Craft and deliver technical demonstrations that show how Stripe’s platform solves specific business problems, including its value proposition, differentiators, customization potential, and benefits to the customer’s user base.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role, such as sales engineer, presales solution consultant, or solutions architect for a global software enterprise.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin. The position primarily works with enterprise Chinese merchants based in China.
• Executive engagement skills and presence, with the ability to establish relationships with key decision-makers and build credibility at all levels.
• Effective group-facilitation skills and confidence proposing and leading customer meetings.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures.
• A background writing code in Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, or another primary deployment language is a plus.
• Outstanding spoken and written communication and presentation skills, with confidence explaining complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to operate independently in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to take ownership and drive change in a constantly evolving environment.
• Ability to travel according to business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or fintech.
• Prior consulting experience.
• Experience at a growth-stage internet or software company.
