Staff Product Designer, Presence

Reddit is looking for a Staff Product Designer to help define the foundations connecting identity, profiles, communities, and discovery across the platform. Presence shapes how people, creators, businesses, and communities express who they are and show up across Reddit, including emerging product areas such as Shopping and Reddit Pro.

This is a highly strategic, systems-oriented role focused on solving complex problems across product boundaries, shaping experience architecture, creating reusable UX patterns, and helping teams build connected experiences as Reddit evolves.

Responsibilities

• Define UX strategy and experience architecture across multiple Presence initiatives.
• Shape foundational experiences across identity, profiles, community representation, Reddit Pro, and emerging product areas.
• Turn ambiguous opportunities into clear product direction, scalable frameworks, and compelling experiences.
• Use AI-assisted design and coding tools to create functional prototypes that make ideas tangible and accelerate decisions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, and senior leaders to influence product direction.
• Bring teams together around shared principles, trade-offs, and a longer-term vision.
• Raise the bar for interaction design, information architecture, accessibility, and reusable design patterns.
• Mentor designers and help evolve the team's approach to systems thinking, craft, and AI-native design.

Requirements

• 8 to 10+ years of product design experience, including complex, cross-functional work in consumer technology.
• Strong systems thinking and experience designing platform-level or reusable product experiences.
• Exceptional interaction design, information architecture, and product strategy skills.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and balancing long-term vision with near-term execution.
• A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and aligning teams without direct authority.
• Strong storytelling, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted design or coding tools to explore, prototype, and communicate ideas.
• A portfolio demonstrating Staff-level thinking, strong craft, and meaningful product or organizational impact.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $194,600–$272,400 USD. The role may also be eligible for a commission depending on the position offered. Final offer amounts are determined by skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses or credentials.
