Details

OpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building an advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem in partnership with cloud providers, hardware manufacturers, utilities, construction partners, and internal engineering organizations. Infrastructure Delivery Operations coordinates complex infrastructure programs across planning, design, construction, hardware deployment, commissioning, and operational handoff.

The role drives execution across large-scale AI infrastructure deployments and owns program health across engineering, construction, operations, supply chain, and external partner organizations. The successful candidate will bring structure to highly technical, multi-year infrastructure programs and operate effectively amid ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional execution for Industrial Compute infrastructure delivery programs from planning through operational handoff.
  • Build and maintain integrated program plans spanning engineering, construction, hardware deployment, networking, commissioning, and operations.
  • Identify schedule risks, dependency conflicts, and execution bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
  • Develop executive-level reporting mechanisms covering program health, milestones, risks, mitigations, and critical decisions.
  • Coordinate across Hardware Engineering, Network Engineering, Hardware Operations, Capacity Delivery, Security, Finance, Supply Chain, and external infrastructure partners.
  • Drive operational readiness reviews before infrastructure enters production.
  • Build standardized delivery processes, governance models, and operating cadences that scale across multiple global infrastructure programs.
  • Manage cross-functional action tracking, decision logs, risk registers, and executive escalations.
  • Establish program metrics and KPIs that improve predictability, transparency, and execution quality.
  • Partner with leadership to continuously improve Industrial Compute delivery methodologies as the infrastructure portfolio grows.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience leading complex technical programs or infrastructure delivery initiatives.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional programs involving multiple engineering organizations.
  • Strong understanding of program management methodologies, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience working with executive stakeholders and communicating program status at multiple organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to drive execution across organizations without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, executive reviews, and operational mechanisms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent high-priority programs.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering hyperscale data centers, cloud infrastructure, AI infrastructure, networking infrastructure, semiconductor manufacturing, or other large-scale technical programs.
  • Familiarity with hardware deployment, commissioning, infrastructure operations, or capacity delivery.
  • Experience working with external vendors, cloud providers, construction partners, or manufacturing organizations.
  • Experience scaling program management organizations or building operational frameworks from the ground up.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, or equivalent program management certifications are a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $185,000–$285,000 per year, plus equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with employer contributions to Health Savings Accounts.
  • Pre-tax accounts for Health FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and commuter expenses.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Paid parental, medical, and caregiver leave.
  • Paid time off, company holidays, and office closures.
  • Mental health and wellness support.
  • Employer-paid basic life and disability coverage.
  • Annual learning and development stipend.
  • Daily office meals and eligible meal delivery credits.
  • Relocation support for eligible employees.
  • Additional benefits may include charitable donation matching and wellness stipends.
