About the Team
The Financial Connections team is building the connective tissue between banks and the internet economy. The team is developing a platform that makes ergonomic, portable access to banking data seamlessly and securely available to businesses around the world. The platform powers consumer experiences such as Link Instant Bank Payments and merchant experiences such as Stripe Capital.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and maintain scalable bank integration infrastructure. You will work across the stack to create intelligent systems that adapt to the availability of banking partners and enable connectivity for new countries and product use cases. The work is cross-cutting, involving partnerships with banks and financial institutions while delivering a next-generation connectivity platform and reliable user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Scope and lead large technical projects, translating business goals into clear technical requirements and executing effectively.
- Align the technology stack with Stripe’s broad strategic initiatives while advocating for the needs of emerging new businesses.
- Work with engineers across the company to deliver comprehensive and reliable access to trustworthy banking data.
- Balance short-term requirements with long-term roadmaps and make decisions that consider business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations.
- Mentor and collaborate with other engineers and managers to grow the next generation of leaders at Stripe.
Requirements
- Strong technical background, including 3+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale systems.
- Comfortable working on a new product under fluid conditions while balancing tactical and strategic considerations.
- Track record of leading and shipping complex cross-team projects end-to-end, from scoping and design through production and operations.
- Measure success in terms of business impact rather than lines of code.
- Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, along with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work well cross-functionally and earn trust from coworkers at all levels.
- Preference for simple solutions and designs over complex ones, with good intuition for what will last and scale.
- Care deeply about mentorship and growing engineers.
