ING Hubs Poland is hiring a Big Data Engineer to develop scalable data solutions supporting fraud prevention, compliance, and financial crime initiatives across the ING organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage, transform, and cleanse high-volume data.
- Help customers solve business problems related to fraud, compliance, and financial crime.
- Participate in regular team sprints and Scrum meetings.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, Project Managers, and Solutions Architects to meet customer expectations and deliver high-quality services.
- Build data-processing pipelines for production, hands-off batch systems, including traditional ETL and analytics pipelines.
- Determine work breakdown and tasking, resolve technical issues, and understand technical architectures.
Requirements
- Proven big data experience from an implementation or data science perspective.
- Knowledge of big data technologies, including Spark, Hadoop, and Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of functional programming.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Good understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C# is preferred.
- Understanding of software development best practices, including clean code, version control, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Facilitation and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive attitude and an automation and optimization mindset.
Additional Information
The role is part of the ING Tech Domain and the Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention domain. The team develops solutions related to Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing, Fraud, and Sanctions, with global implementation across more than 40 countries.
The role uses Spark, Hadoop, Scala, Data Fusion, and Elasticsearch. Scala is the primary language, but prior Scala experience is not required because training is provided through the Quantexa training academy.
The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture is “Engineer II” or “Engineer III”.
The expected salary is 9,600–18,000 PLN gross monthly. The financial ranges specified in the announcement may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.
