ING Hubs Poland is hiring a Credit Risk Model Developer Expert. The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture is “Model Developer IV.”

The Credit Risk Model Development team is an international global team of more than 400 risk experts located across Europe, including Amsterdam, Milan, and Warsaw. The team is responsible for developing robust credit risk models embedded in the regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PD, EAD, and LGD IRB/IFRS 9 models for retail and wholesale banking.
  • Participate in the full credit risk model lifecycle, including data sourcing, model development, annual monitoring, model implementation, and support for model validation and internal and external audit reviews.
  • Collaborate with the internal Model Validation Unit during model development, monitoring, and review processes.
  • Interact with stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge and expertise.
  • Write reports and model documentation.

Requirements

  • MSc in mathematics, econometrics, statistics, or a similar quantitative field.
  • Sound knowledge of statistical inference and econometric methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of IRB and IFRS 9 models.
  • Good understanding and interpretation of regulatory credit risk policies, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • At least five years of experience developing IFRS 9/IRB models and working with programming, such as Python or SAS, databases, data modeling, data preparation, and data quality control.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly express ideas, facts, and opinions.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze key information, and make connections to find appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to complete tasks and achieve results efficiently, timely, and to a high quality, with a focus on execution and delivery of targets and KPIs.
  • English proficiency at C1 level.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience acting as a sparring partner or advisor to senior management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with advanced statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of AIRB and IFRS 9 regulations.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Professional certification such as FRM, PRM, CFA, or CQF.
  • Experience with databases, data preparation, and data quality control.

Salary

The expected salary is PLN 13,000–22,000 gross per month. The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.
