Details

ING Hubs Poland is hiring for a Machine Learning Credit Model Developer. The expected salary is 9,600–18,000 PLN gross per month. The financial ranges specified in the announcement are adjusted and may differ from the range specified in the remuneration regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and periodically monitor credit decision models across global ING business lines and locations.
  • Ensure that models are conceptually sound and appropriate.
  • Ensure model compliance with regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including model validators, risk managers, and business stakeholders, and promote best practices.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory guidelines, particularly those related to advanced analytics models, to contribute to the continuous improvement of credit decision models.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree, such as a PhD or Master's degree, in a quantitative discipline, including Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of classic machine learning methods, including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, and regression.
  • Experience validating or developing credit risk models in a financial institution or related industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to describe models and effectively articulate and document their structure, logic, and results.
  • Experience writing code in Python. Experience with R, SAS, or another statistical programming language is a plus.
  • Experience with data processing and advanced visualization.
  • Knowledge of credit risk management processes, including credit risk models such as credit decision scorecards, early warning systems, collection systems, IRB, and IFRS9.
  • English verbal and written proficiency.

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework for credit risk management, including IRB and IFRS9, and of the lending process.
  • Experience working with Agile.
  • Experience with code versioning using Git.

Team

The role is part of an international team of experts developing non-regulatory credit risk models within the Risk Hub Model Development Area. The team applies machine learning techniques to support safe and reasonable credit-risk decision-making and business growth.

The team develops and monitors advanced analytics non-regulatory models used by ING and collaborates frequently with colleagues across ING globally. Its goal is to ensure sustainable credit risk model performance while bringing fresh ideas to a fast-changing and complex environment.
