Engineering Manager - Money Management

Details

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Money Management Team builds Stripe Treasury, a business account product offering storage, foreign exchange, payouts, yield, lending, card issuing, and other financial capabilities. The product is available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, with plans to expand globally.

The role involves leading engineers, building successful products, partnering with other Stripe teams, and contributing hands-on to key systems and large-scale technical efforts.

Responsibilities

• Enable the team to work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems end to end.
• Support the engineering team in building experiences and tools for businesses ranging from high-growth startups to leading global companies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and operations.
• Lead and manage processes that help the team do its best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe.
• Recruit engineers in collaboration with Stripe's recruiting team.
• Develop engineers and help them advance in their careers.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe's engineering management team.
• Build key systems and take direct responsibility for delivering large-scale technical efforts.
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to Stripe engineers.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience building and managing one or more teams that ship high-quality products.
• A strong technical background as an individual contributor, including at least 4 years of industry experience building user-facing products.
• Experience designing backend services and full-stack experiences.
• Ability to work effectively cross-functionally, think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate difficult decisions and trade-offs.
• Ability to thrive with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment.
• Technical acumen to drive clarity with senior engineers regarding architecture and technical strategy.
• Commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, challenging, and supportive work environment.
• Strong interest in mentoring and developing engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial product companies and an interest in financial products and markets.
