Details

Coinbase is hiring a Group Product Manager to lead the Compliance Agent Experience product team within its EAA organization. The team builds internal tooling and AI-powered investigation experiences used by Compliance Operations to execute financial crime programs, including AML Transaction Monitoring, KYC, Enhanced Due Diligence, and Sanctions/Screening. The role owns an automation-first roadmap that helps investigators triage alerts, assess risk, and document decisions faster and more accurately while enabling the platform to handle repeatable tasks at scale.

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Employees are expected to meet quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.”

Responsibilities

  • Own the Compliance Agent Experience product area end-to-end, from vision and strategy through execution, covering AML/TMS, KYC, EDD, and Sanctions/Screening investigation surfaces.
  • Drive a multi-year roadmap for AI-assisted, human-in-the-loop investigation workflows that reduce cycle time, improve decision quality, and increase automation adoption.
  • Lead build-versus-buy and vendor strategy for investigation enablement, including OSINT, case enrichment, and LLM tooling evaluations and RFPs in partnership with Compliance, Legal, Security, and Procurement.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science/ML, Compliance Program owners, and CX Operations to deliver integrated tooling that reduces context-switching and improves end-to-end investigation throughput.
  • Establish success metrics and instrumentation for compliance tooling, including investigation cycle time, average handle time, escalation rates, quality assurance outcomes, false-positive reduction, and automation adoption.
  • Report progress to executive stakeholders through regular business reviews.
  • Shape security, privacy, and auditability requirements, including access controls, data retention, audit trails, and model governance, ensuring regulatory readiness without compromising investigator usability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years leading and developing product management teams, with a track record of shipping internal tooling or operational platforms at global scale.
  • Experience building AI/ML-powered automation or workflow products, such as LLM-based assistants, human-in-the-loop decisioning, or intelligent case routing, in compliance, fintech, or similarly regulated domains.
  • Deep familiarity with AML, transaction monitoring, investigations, sanctions screening, or KYC/EDD operations, including auditability and regulator-facing requirements.
  • Ability to define measurable outcomes such as throughput, quality, and automation rates; instrument product surfaces; and use data to drive roadmap prioritization across a multi-team portfolio.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional programs spanning engineering, compliance, data science, and operations across five or more teams.
  • Ability to communicate strategy and trade-offs to VP-level and more senior audiences.
  • Responsible use of generative AI, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $243,865–$286,900 USD, varying by location.
  • Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.

Additional Information

  • Candidates may submit a maximum of three applications within a six-month period.
  • Coinbase is an equal opportunity employer.
  • Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities.
  • Applicants agree to Coinbase’s Candidate Privacy Notice and, for US applicants, arbitration of disputes when submitting an application.
